Wynnton Neighborhood Network: Volunteering Highlights
At the heart of Wynnton Neighborhood Network (WNN) is a force of dedicated volunteers. As an all-volunteer, nonprofit entity, every helping hand plays a pivotal role in our operations. Here’s a glimpse of how our volunteers contribute:
- Pantry Volunteers: They are the backbone of our food distribution process, responsible for filling food bags, stocking shelves, and preparing buggies for client deliveries.
- Office Volunteers: Essential for our backend operations, they update client data, manage the amount of food allocated to each family, and ensure paperwork aligns with USDA requirements.
- Buggy Pushers: They facilitate the smooth transition of food from our pantry to the client’s vehicle.
- Utility Volunteers: They’re the initial point of contact for utility assistance, handling client calls, collecting application details, and managing the pledge processes.
- Board Members: Every affiliated congregation elects two voting representatives to our Board, supported by officers who shape our policies. The Board convenes quarterly to deliberate on our strategy and direction.
Our volunteers typically serve during our operational hours from 9:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., either on a weekly or bi-weekly basis. We also have a group of flexible substitutes ready to step in when needed.
In essence, every volunteer, regardless of their role, is invaluable to WNN. Our success and reach are a direct reflection of their dedication and commitment. We truly couldn’t achieve our mission without this incredible community of volunteers!
